Martha Münder

Martha Münder was born in Hamburg, studied music theatre in Bayreuth, and has been living in Munich for ten years. She was an assistant director at the Bavarian State Opera, where she worked with directors like Andreas Dresen, Philipp Stölzl, Andreas Kriegenburg, and Hans Neuenfels and was in charge of the revivals of their work. As a director, Martha Münder staged the opera “Der Diktator” by Ernst Krenek in the Cuvilliéstheatre and the contemporary opera “Tonguecat” for the summer festival of the Bavarian State Opera. From 2012 until 2014, Münder was a scholarship holder of Deutsche Bank Stiftung in the program “Akademie Musik Theater heute” in the directing division. In 2020, Martha Münder changed careers and was accepted into the program “Drehbuchwerkstatt,” where she wrote her first screenplay “ELLA” about the German painter Gabriele Münter. Besides screenplays, Martha Münder writes poems, her own songs, and is a free speaker for weddings and funerals.
