ZHdK - Züricher Hochschule der Künste
Born and raised in Zurich, she discovered her passion for filmmaking during an exchange year at a New Zealand all girls' high school. 2017 she graduates with a master in fiction Directing from the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Her short films, such as WO GÖMMER (2012) have enjoyed international festival success, including a nomination for the Studio Hamburg Nachwuchspreis. The short film ZWISCHENSTOPP (2017) premiered at the Max Ophüls Festival and was selected for the Palm Springs International ShortFest. In 2019, she worked as a director on the 2nd season of the SRF TV-series SEITENTRIEBE by Güzin Kar. In 2023 she shot four episodes of the TV-series NEUMATT (3rd season). Cosima lives in Berlin, but commutes regularly to her hometown, Zurich, for work and her loved ones. Cosima is currently developing her feature film debut and is also working on the long-term documentary 8TO18 (produced by Filmgerberei). She is a member of the Directors’ Association BVR in Germany and the ARF/FDS in Switzerland. She is an alumni of the ZFF Academy and took part in the EKRAN development programme (2021).
