Born 1990 in Hamburg to two psychotherapists, Jonas' first words are "personality disorder" and he learns to walk while his parents discuss borderline patients. This upbringing scars him early on and he needs years to learn to sublimate it into art: Together with his best friend, he produces his first medium-length film at the age of 17, celebrated in the regional fish wraps. For reasons not rationally comprehensible, he becomes fan of Hamburger SV and thus learns a lot about drama, pain and the expectations of the viewer.
After graduating from high school in 2010, he moves to Nablus, Palestine, where he leads a film project and works in refugee camps as a teacher. Back in Hamburg, he sweats as a production assistant at advertising production company Tony Petersen Film. In 2012, he begins his screenplay studies at the dffb. Here he writes, among other things, the short film "Milch kaputt, 3 Papier", which premieres at Max-Ophüls-Preis in Saarbrücken. Together with 6 partners in crime he founds the writers' collective Schreibkollektiv Q3.
Since graduating in 2016, he has been writing for a variety of film and series projects, including the Grimme Award and German Television Award-nominated youth series DRUCK as well as creating and headwriting the German adaptation of the international hit series EUPHORIA for RTL+.
He is interested in funny, anarchic, absurd stories that bubble out of emotional characters. He works his way through political themes and asks himself not only what is moving our society at the moment, but also where it is headed in the future. He draws inspiration from internet culture, David Foster Wallace, epistemology, pop, psychotherapy, Roquefort and Mubi.
